Bush Vine Chenin Blanc

These grapes are grown in the Helderberg area on decomposed granite soils where they benefit from the cooling breezes of the ocean, which moderate our hot climate. Our Bush Vine Chenin Blanc grapes were picked at different levels of ripeness, to build good acidity, fruit and depth.

Mountainside Syrah

Our two mature Syrah vineyards are planted on the decomposed granite soils of the Helderberg mountainside overlooking False Bay. Here the vines benefit from the cooling breezes of the famous Cape Doctor, the South-Easterly wind which blows off the ocean only a few kilometres away. The rocky, gravelly soil helps to produce balanced and finely textured wines which show restrained fruit, lovely spice and fynbos notes.

Full Berry Fermentation Pinotage

We work with two vineyards for this Pinotage, one based in Northern Stellenbosch and the other in Voor Paardeberg, approaching 20 years old respectively. The former on sandy and very heavily decomposed quartz and granite soils, the latter on weathered, granite derived soils.
