THE WINES

Extremely approachable, classy and elegant, these all-occasion wines are highly drinkable – and highly affordable. We believe in making delicious, value-for-money wines, no matter what the price tag says. And that’s what we do with the wines in this range.

Unoaked Chardonnay

A blend of Chardonnay from two locations. The smallest component from Ocean-facing Helderberg vineyards and the second from the Robertson valley. The grapes from Stellenbosch have more depth and weight, while the Robertson grapes are concentrated and grown on limestone soils and give more citrus flavours, freshness and minerality to the wine.

Bush Vine Chenin Blanc

These grapes are grown in the Helderberg area on decomposed  granite soils where they benefit from the cooling breezes of the  ocean, which moderate our hot climate. Our Bush Vine Chenin Blanc grapes were picked at different levels of ripeness, to build good  acidity, fruit and depth.

Reserve Pinot Noir

From the beautiful regions of Stanford and Stellenbosch where beauty knows no bounds. This elegant Pinot Noir shows freshness and ripe fruit. The berries were removed, intact, from the stems and transported to  fermentation tanks by employing a gondola hoist system developed to ensure the most gentle treatment of the whole berries.

Mountainside Syrah

Our two mature Syrah vineyards are planted on the decomposed granite soils of the Helderberg mountainside overlooking False Bay. Here the vines benefit from the cooling breezes of the famous Cape Doctor, the South-Easterly wind which blows off the ocean only a few kilometres away. The rocky, gravelly soil helps to produce balanced and finely textured wines which show restrained fruit, lovely spice and fynbos notes.

The Winery of Good Hope Whole Berry Pino
Whole Berry Pinotage

Two remarkable old vineyards were chosen for this interesting example of Pinotage. The first, planted on the slopes of Klapmutskop outside Stellenbosch brings ripe, full and fleshy fruit notes. The second vineyard comes from the Voor Paardeberg, where the sandy, granite soils produce wine with lovely tension and superb texture.
